If you have ever looked for advice on how to increase your stamina and improve your health, you have probably noticed that most of it conflicts with each other. The information from the so-called “diet gurus” is often conflicting and useless. You also need to be careful of people that are fitness gurus, so-called experts trying to peddle their products that may or may not work. It is usually hard to tell the difference between guys with good products and those with bad. Getting to a healthier you is what you want. Exercising daily, and finding the time to do so, is not a problem. Doing a workout every day takes dedication and is difficult even if you have the time. If you are busy this can be hard. Doing these exercises is not as hard as it would seem because you do them individually at different times. Work in smaller exercises during the day while you are doing other things. Some exercises can actually be done while you are cooking dinner making it a very constructive time. Just do your exercises as quickly as possible - that is how they will all fit in. Just spend five or 10 minutes a day doing these exercises to get yourself back into shape. It is just as bad to center your diet on one food as it is to eliminate it entirely. So if you have a lot of variety, you can diet much more successfully. Instead of becoming bored with the food that you are eating while on your diet, add variety! Healthy foods are very easy to find, and the selection of the foods will keep you coming back for more. Any diet that tells you to concentrate on just one item (like the juice diet) is forcing you to rob yourself of essential vitamins and nutrients. This is certainly not a healthy way to go.
The portions in the diet food section are actually bigger than they were years ago. We’ve gotten used to seeing more food on our plates so we just tend to assume that a single portion is the size we are used to seeing. When most of us eat, we usually have two or three things on our plate making up the portions for our meal. Most individuals will eat different sized portions proportionate to their weight and size; the American Medical Association can help you determine what that is. If you need to have a guideline for portion control, this is the place to go. You’ll be surprised at how small they seem at first but you’ll get used to it and soon what you used to be accustomed to will feel gluttonous.
