The Return of the Swim Dress
Even though the swim dress never truly left some of the style and fashion did—at least for some time. If you think back to the Golden Age when the likes of Bettie Page and Marilyn Monroe adorned the cover of magazines looking saucier than ever before; a swim dress is generally what they were photographed in. The swim dress is the ultimate in classic pinup style and fortunately, they’re back again as the ultimate in modern-day pinup wear!
For a while the swim dress was something intended for older women who desired to cover up. In all honesty, they were far from sexy or even remotely attractive. Today the swim dress has returned and hotter than ever! Do not get me wrong; the fresh swim dress isn’t about showing off too much skin or appeariing unrespectable or anything! The choices just happen to be better than ever so ladies of all ages and tastes can find something which they like. You can choose from something stunning and traditional or one that provides you with a whole lot of va-va-voom in a way that is reminiscent of the alluring pinup girls of the past that are cool once more.
Ever since the trend in swimsuits switched back to old movie star glamour, there’s been no stopping the swim dress. Not only have these looks been occupying the pages of the top fashion periodicals however, even the retailers that are best recognized for super-sexy swimsuits and lingerie have added swim dresses to their repertoire. The modern swim dress still offers more coverage than other bathing suits but, they are cut in a way which is far more flattering, they enhance your curves so you might look gorgeous no matter your shape or size, and best of all, they are available in colors and styles that give the bikini a run for its money!
Selecting your swim dress is easy because they’re all geared to be as figure-flattering as possible today. The hard part is deciding on just one since the selection is so outstanding! Go for darkish colors and wider straps if you are looking for support and coverage or if sex appeal is what you are after, then look at a few of the flirtier classic styles that look more like hot little dresses than swimsuits. Remember that ruffles on the bust might enhance a smaller bust and a skirt that flows out in an ‘A’ shape is great for making the most of a pear shape or heavy bottom. The swim dress is not about concealing imperfections – it is about making the best of what you have got so that you appear and feel as attractive and self-assured as a pinup!
