Party Favors, still a hit?

One of the more accepted traditions of a party is that guests depart with a party favor. Normally, this is a small present of some kind, reasonably priced but thoughtful, and leaves guests going home with a smile on their face.

However with party favors - for mature parties, anyway - being a more modern tradition, have they now grown to be expected - or are you able to throw an effective party without them? Party favors tend to be tricky beasts in a number of ways.

To begin with, it increases your budget while not being for the purpose of aiding your party, for example like spending money for room decorations or for groceries. In the end, these are given once the party is finished. It only serves as a take home present for your attendees, which is simply a lot of bother on your part, and an added expense, for formality’s sake.

Then, apart from it adding to your budget, you still have to think of what to buy, correct? Let’s face it! It’s freaking hard to buy something which a hundred guests would prefer. It’s a headache you can do without, yeah? The thing is, why do you even have to worry about a thing which you can just cross out of your to-buy-list or to-worry-list.

But then, if you don’t hand out take home items to your guests, you might be labeled as some egocentric and impolite host, which you wouldn’t want. This leaves you in such a complex situation. The answer to this particular question is undeniably difficult for either way, as you’re entering the probability of distressing individuals. They would possibly give the impression that you got them an unsuitable gift or disparage not having one.

This is the most suitable option, buy low-priced but bubbly gifts and give them to your guests not as a gift, but rather a novelty which they can hold dear. Ensure it is uncomplicated though with gleam, commit a small amount of money, but never neglect to use a party favor
