Sports Book Page – Wild Weekend Impacts The Heisman Trophy Competition
It was a crazy weekend in college football sport betting and there was a major shakeup in Heisman probabilities at the sportsbook page. A week ago it was Terrelle Pryor who seemed like the fave with Denard Robinson in the competition. Now it seems both of those players are long shots with regards to Heisman odds at the offshore sports book.
Cameron Newton the New Fave – The general opinion now is that Auburn quarterback Cameron Newton is the fave to win the Heisman in college football betting. Yet we seem to have a new favorite every week so that might modify. Newton was brilliant this past week as he had 328 total yards and four touchdowns in a 65-43 win over Arkansas. He gets the focus again this week as Auburn competes LSU in the game of the week in college football.
Newton is on his 3rd college in his NCAA football career. He started off at the University of Florida where he was the back up for future Heisman Trophy champ Tim Tebow. Soon after he was suspended and arrested for taking a laptop from another student’s dorm room, he shifted to
Blinn College in Texas. He was ranked by Rivals.com as their sole 5-star qb recruit and the #1 junior college candidate for 2010. He then transferred to Auburn University where he immediately became their starting quarterback. He was named FBS National Performer of the Week by College Football Performance Awards, as well as SEC Player of the Week, for his performance in the course of Week 1 of the 2010 year. He had a second break-out competition all through Week three.
Pryor, Mallett, Robinson and Martinez all tumble – It was a bad week for Terrelle Pryor, Ryan Mallett, Denard Robinson and Taylor Martinez. The Buckeyes, Razorbacks, Wolverines and Cornhuskers all lost and each teams’ quarterback did not play nicely. Mallett is the only one with a justification as he sustained a concussion and had to leave the match. The other three just didn’t play that well and their chances are pretty much carried out.
Newton a Excellent Value – If you’re able to still find Newton with prospects of 9-1 or so on the sports book page then you should jump on them. His probabilities should be more like 3-1 at the offshore sportsbook. He’s going to get the spotlight due to the fact he competes in the SEC and considering Auburn is undefeated.
LaMichael James – If you don’t think that Newton will win then the competitor to bet on is James. He performs for the top-ranked Oregon Ducks who may not lose the remainder of the season. He gets to present the country his stuff on Thursday evening as the Ducks play UCLA in a game they ought to win handily. James should be right with Newton if he has a significant game on Thursday.
Longshot – Boise State’s Kellen Moore continues to be in the mix nonetheless the Broncos do not play anyone and unless Newton or James completely falls apart he is not going to win it considering nobody will see Moore play and Boise is never in a competitive competition.
