Collecting Medieval Items
The dream of living in a medieval castle is shared by many. Sometimes its because these people love the folk lore or the romantic feeling living in a castle can bring. Other times its the interest in being surrounded by so many medieval items in one place. Unfortunately, not everyone can afford to purchase a medieval castle.
Fortunately, folks don’t have to own a castle in order to own some neat medieval items or replicas. I wrote this article to tell folks how to make their houses seem more like the medieval castles they long to live in. You’ll learn where to put your medieval armor plus so much more.
The best way to start is to choose a room that you want to make more medieval. You’ll be able to learn how to decorate better when you do one room at a time. You’ll also find that doing your setups one room at a time will keep you from having to take a loan out to pay for it.
After you have picked the place to begin your decorating, you will want to come up with a list of medieval things to put in it. Windows, walls, and floors, are a great place to start. The room will look like an authentic room in a medieval home rather than just a standard room in a modern house with some medieval items placed within. Buy a few sets of medieval curtains to put in front of your windows. After that, you should get a medieval style rug for the floor. You’ll find that hardwood floors are best for this setup.
After this, you can start dressing up the walls. Try putting a nice medieval tapestry on a windowless wall. After that you can put some smaller paintings to fill in other areas of the wall. Think of some personal touches you can add to the walls to make them truly yours.
Armors, helmets, and shields might be nice items to keep in this room. These could be bought online at places like www.armorvenue.com . You’ll find that armor stands work great at keeping your armors displayed nicely. Table tops, shelves, and nice helmet stands are fantastic for displaying helmets.
Folks love to add in medieval weapon displays to their room. If your trying to make the room look really authentic, you could display these in a weapons rack. If that isn’t an option for you, wall mounts and glass cases make a good alternative. Glass cases can add a bit of safety to your medieval weapons.
